BLOG POST: WHEN JOY BECOMES CONTAGIOUS
by Moi Merveille
Today reminded me of something profound:
Joy is a language that needs no translation.
I woke up early, prayed, meditated, worked a long shift,
finished two Young Adult books,
finished a full 15-book Senior Series,
paid my school fees,
scheduled tomorrow’s blog…
and in the middle of all that—
I accidentally became a one-woman comedy show.
Not by intention.
Not by planning.
Just… life happening.
A story here, a giggle there,
a small moment that turned into an uncontrollable laugh,
and suddenly an entire room was holding their stomachs.
Strangers. Co-workers. Supervisors.
Everyone caught the “joy bug.”
It was never the jokes.
It was the atmosphere.
When God shifts your spirit into joy,
your presence alone becomes medicine.
People feel lighter around you.
Rooms feel different when you walk in.
The heaviness breaks.
The atmosphere brightens.
And sometimes—
people laugh until they forget why they were stressed.
Today reminded me:
Joy isn’t childish.
It is holy, necessary, and deeply adult.
Because when life is heavy,
joy is rebellion.
Joy is strength.
Joy is healing.
And sometimes, joy shows up
in the form of you
—unexpectedly making the whole workplace crack up
over spilled water and an innocent question:
“Are you emptying the pond?” 🤣
May tomorrow be full of unexpected joy for you, too.
And may your spirit carry light wherever you go.
Because the world needs it.
And God put that grace in you on purpose.
